Over the past few weeks Jenn had the pleasure of working with artist Bukola Koiki as the fourth and final participant in our 2014-15 Combined Studio Residency with the c3:initiative. Bukola focused on making papers using Japanese and Thai Kozo, cotton rag created from one of her dresses, overbeaten abaca, recycled cotton prints, and marsh grass. She explored watermarks, embedding, embossing and pulp painting to get an idea of a range of papermaking techniques. We can't wait to share more of Bukola's work with you and will be sure to let you know where you can see her art around Portland and beyond.
Pulp & Deckle is a handmade papermaking studio located in Oregon.
