As our studio evolves and our incubator with the non-profit c3:initiative comes to an end (mid November 2016) we are actively looking for new partners, collaborators, and supporters to keep our residency program going into 2017. Specifically we need two things to make the program happen.
1. Funding of $6,000. This money will allow us to keep the program free for the four artists who participate. For the past two years we've been able to provide selected artists studio time of 40 - 60 hours working with a studio assistant. We would like to continue to offer this same level of free support but need funding to do so.
2. A space to have a group exhibition. One of the goals of the residency program is to increase awareness of papermaking as a contemporary art medium. This is achieved in part by giving the 4 residency artists a group exhibition in which they show handmade paper based art work that was created in whole, or in part, at Pulp & Deckle. We would like to find a gallery venue (in Portland) to exhibit this work in the fall of 2017.
